What happened: Aday Mara produced the sequence during his NBA debut for Oklahoma City against San Antonio. The performance drew "this is why they drafted you" praise on the Athletic NBA Show.

Why it matters: Early two-way production helps define a rookie center's path to steady rotation minutes. Opening the season with a win gives the debut additional standing in a competitive Western Conference race.

What to watch: Mara's role in the coming regular-season games will show how steady his rotation spot becomes.
