What happened: Al Hilal defeated Al Kholood in the Saudi King's Cup final, with Theo Hernández scoring the winning goal off an assist from Karim Benzema. The triumph delivers a 10th King's Cup in club history. It also marks Simone Inzaghi's first piece of silverware since taking over as Al Hilal head coach.

Why it matters: The trophy validates Al Hilal's heavy summer investment in Inzaghi and reinforces the club's domestic dominance in Saudi football. For Hernández, the goal underscores his immediate impact since arriving in the Saudi Pro League, while Benzema continues to anchor the attack as a creator. The win also resets pressure on rivals like Al Ittihad, where front-office turnover is already underway.

What to watch: Attention shifts to Al Hilal's remaining Saudi Pro League fixtures and squad planning under Inzaghi for the 2026-27 campaign. Watch for whether this title shapes contract talks for Hernández and Benzema's role going forward.
