What happened: Super Bowl champion Antonio Freeman praised Alex Freeman and the USMNT for their World Cup form, highlighting the team's drive and camaraderie. His comments came as the United States moved through Group D after a 4-1 win over Paraguay and a 2-0 result against Australia.

Why it matters: Freeman's rise has added a family layer to the U.S. run, connecting a former Super Bowl champion with one of the national team's current World Cup stories. For the USMNT, the broader significance is competitive: winning Group D gives the Americans a stronger path into the knockout stage.

By the numbers: The United States beat Paraguay 4-1 and Australia 2-0 in Group D. The U.S. clinched the group before its June 25 finale against Türkiye, with a Round of 32 matchup next.

What to watch: Watch how the USMNT manages minutes in the group finale before the knockout round. Alex Freeman's role will remain a focus as the tournament shifts into elimination games.
