What happened: An automated ball-strike review confirmed Ball 1, leaving the original call unchanged in MLB's latest ABS challenge sequence. The ruling adds another live result to the league's regular-season test of the challenge format.

Why it matters: Each confirmed or overturned challenge adds to MLB's evaluation of how the ABS system works under game conditions. The outcomes matter because the league is still measuring whether the challenge model is consistent enough for broader adoption.

What to watch: More challenge decisions are likely as MLB continues regular-season ABS testing. The bigger question is whether the growing sample pushes the system closer to a formal rollout.
