What happened: Barcelona has reportedly dispatched a representative to Italy to meet with Cesc Fàbregas, identifying the former midfielder as their primary choice to succeed Hansi Flick. The Catalan club is seeking a pre-agreement with Fàbregas, who has just led Como to a historic fourth-place finish in Serie A.

Why it matters: While Flick recently secured his second consecutive La Liga title, Barcelona is proactively planning for the future by targeting a coach with deep ties to the club's philosophy. Fàbregas has seen his stock rise significantly after qualifying Como for the Champions League, with Barcelona viewing him as the ideal heir to the current sporting project.

What to watch: Expect further discussions as Barcelona attempts to lock in a commitment before other European giants formalize their interest.
