What happened: Chicago plans to start quarterback Caleb Williams on Sunday against Atlanta after he missed the past three games with a torn hamstring, per NFL Network and ESPN. Williams completed a full week of practice without a setback after initial reports on Sept. 27 projected a three-to-four-week absence.

Why it matters: Returning Williams to the starting lineup restores Chicago's primary passer on the front end of that recovery window. His clearance coincides with the Bears activating cornerback Kyler Gordon from the Reserve/PUP list ahead of Sunday's road matchup in Atlanta.

By the numbers: Williams missed three games following the Sept. 27 hamstring injury designation after completing 72.4 percent of his passes in Week 1.

What to watch: Chicago faces the Falcons in Atlanta on Sunday with Williams slated to take the opening snaps.
