What happened: Ben Rice connected for his 23rd home run of the season, a solo shot. It was his first long ball since June 21, snapping a brief homerless stretch.

Why it matters: The homer keeps Ben Rice's breakout campaign on its torrid trajectory and adds to a power total that has pushed him into All-Star and AL MVP-threat conversations this season.

What to watch: Watch whether Rice keeps the long-ball pace going through the second half and a tight All-Star voting window.
