What happened: Buffalo counted on Ray Davis and Khalil Shakir to stretch the field in key moments. Ray Davis turned a screen into a drive to the 2-yard line but could not break it for more.

Why it matters: Without extra gear from complementary options, Buffalo must sustain long drives to score. That margin narrows late when one tackle can end a possession.

What to watch: Watch whether Buffalo manufactures explosives through scheme or other personnel down the stretch.
