What happened: The Chicago Blackhawks are exploring trade scenarios to move up in the 2026 NHL Draft to secure Swedish prospect Ivar Stenberg. While the team currently holds the #4 overall pick, reports suggest they may target the #2 selection to guarantee landing the elite winger.

Why it matters: Stenberg is viewed as a franchise-altering talent who would serve as an ideal long-term complement to center Connor Bedard. The potential move aligns with the Blackhawks' #4 overall pick appearing on trade boards as they look to accelerate their rebuild.

What to watch: The NHL Draft is scheduled for late June, with the Blackhawks' positioning at #4 serving as a major pivot point for the league's top five.
