What happened: Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion made Cleveland's initial 53-man roster after arriving as the No. 39 and No. 24 overall picks. The rookie receivers demonstrated their grasp of alignments, assignments and technique during camp and the preseason.

Why it matters: Concepcion offers all-purpose versatility, while the 6-foot-4 Boston adds size to the receiving rotation. Their development could determine how much Cleveland gets immediately from its draft investment at the position.

By the numbers: Concepcion recorded three catches for 27 yards, a 14-yard rushing touchdown and 72 all-purpose yards in his preseason debut. Boston caught one pass for 15 yards in the opener.

What to watch: Early regular-season snap counts and target shares will show how quickly both rookies earn sustained roles.
