What happened: The awards were presented before Tuesday night's game. Marsh was Philadelphia's team winner, while Arraez retained San Francisco's designation because voting closed before his move.

Why it matters: The Heart & Hustle Award is MLB's only honor voted on by former players. Selection recognizes passion, work ethic and contributions on and off the field.

By the numbers: Thirty alumni committees selected one winner per club before the All-Star break.

What to watch: Alumni members and fans will choose the overall winner after the season, with the announcement scheduled for mid-November.
