What happened: The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms with cornerback and return specialist Sean Fresch Jr. following his standout 2026 season with the St. Louis Battlehawks. Fresch joins the roster alongside fellow Battlehawks standout Hakeem Butler, the UFL Offensive Player of the Year, as Denver continues to mine the spring league for talent ahead of mandatory minicamp.

Why it matters: The signing addresses Denver's need for depth in the secondary and a dynamic presence in the return game. Fresch provides versatility as a slot cornerback and a proven playmaker on special teams, potentially competing for a primary return role during the 2026 preseason. His addition reflects head coach Sean Payton's strategy of targeting high-upside performers from alternative leagues to sharpen roster competition.

What to watch: Fresch and Butler will join the Broncos for mandatory minicamp as they compete to secure spots on the 53-man roster for the upcoming season.
