Cleveland trades up for targeted tackle, adds picks. Video

What happened: Cleveland Browns picked Utah offensive tackle Spencer Fano ninth overall in the 2026 NFL Draft using a selection acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs. The deal also brought third- and fifth-round picks to Cleveland. More offensive line help is anticipated at No. 24.

Why it matters: Fano addresses Browns' dire need for quarterback protection after ranking last in sacks allowed during 2025 season. Extra picks enhance draft capital for roster depth amid playoff push.

By the numbers: Browns 2025 stats: 52 sacks allowed (NFL worst); OL PFF grade: 58.2 (bottom-5). No. 9 pick odds pre-draft: Fano +1400. Trade: Chiefs receive No. 9, send No. 24 (partial), Rd3 #92, Rd5 #162.

What to watch: Watch Browns at No. 24 for WR or TE targeting offensive upgrades.
