What happened: The Buffalo Sabres opened public submissions to select service members for recognition on the club's Military Appreciation Jerseys. Sabres players will personally present the personalized jerseys to the chosen honorees during an upcoming team practice.

Why it matters: The program connects the organization's military recognition efforts directly with the team's daily hockey operations by bringing honorees onto the practice rink. Putting recipient names on team jerseys provides an individual tribute alongside the in-person player handoff.

What to watch: Buffalo will review the submitted nominations and schedule the practice presentation with the selected recipients.
