What happened: The first-round defensive lineman was very active in team drills Wednesday, according to Alec Lewis. Banks had missed rookie minicamp and June minicamp while recovering from a foot injury.

Why it matters: Minnesota now gets an extended on-field look at a key addition to its defensive front. His participation adds a young interior option as the Vikings assemble their 2026 rotation.

By the numbers: Minnesota selected Banks 18th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. He sat out the May rookie minicamp and June minicamp before Wednesday's camp opener.

What to watch: Banks' workload during upcoming practices will indicate how quickly he can move into a regular rotation.
