For the first time in his career, Caleb Durbin is a Gold Glove Award finalist! https://t.co/JWwWaHibNf Via @RedSox on X

What happened: Durbin was named one of three American League finalists at third base. The selection is the first Gold Glove finalist nod of his career. The infielder who drove in two for Boston in July adds defensive recognition to his 2026 resume.

Why it matters: The nod establishes Durbin as a two-way contributor at third base rather than an offense-only piece. Defensive awards shape arbitration cases and offseason roster valuation for young infielders. A win would give him a career credential in his first full争 spotlight season.

By the numbers: Durbin logged 586 plate appearances with a .248/.332/.378 line, 74 runs, 13 homers, 64 RBI and 20 stolen bases.

What to watch: The AL third-base winner will be decided among the three finalists.
