What happened: The Washington Capitals signed forward Boone Jenner to a four-year, $23 million contract. The deal adds a two-way forward during Washington’s busy offseason.

Why it matters: Jenner strengthens the Capitals’ forward depth and gives the roster another defensively responsible option. The four-year commitment makes him part of Washington’s plans through the 2029-30 season.

What to watch: Washington’s remaining offseason moves will show how Jenner fits into the forward rotation.
