What happened: Over the latest voting window, Carter Jensen went 8-for-19 with seven extra-base hits and six RBI. His three home runs helped produce a 1.634 OPS.

Why it matters: It is Jensen's first career weekly award and the second won by a Royals player this season. The honor provides a late-season marker with Kansas City out of postseason contention.

By the numbers: Jensen hit .421, and seven of his eight hits—87.5%—went for extra bases.

What to watch: The remaining schedule will test whether Jensen can sustain that production from the leadoff spot.
