What happened: Early regular-season overreactions from CBS Sports pair a hypothetical Golden State Warriors pivot away from Stephen Curry with a potential landing spot for Ja Morant in Portland. Both scenarios remain speculative media premises rather than active front-office negotiations.

Why it matters: Even as Stephen Curry draws praise for his skills, any directional shift for Golden State centers on veteran contract flexibility while the front office evaluates existing expiring salary. Moving Morant to Portland would similarly alter Western Conference guard rotation dynamics.

What to watch: Golden State continues its regular-season slate as Western Conference front offices evaluate early roster performance.
