What happened: Kansas City Chiefs picked LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft on Friday. Delane, a shutdown defender for the Tigers, impressed scouts with his speed and ball skills. The selection fills a key need in the Chiefs' secondary.

Why it matters: Chiefs' pass defense ranked 18th in 2025, allowing 225 yards per game. Delane's elite coverage boosts their contention for another Super Bowl run.

By the numbers: Delane 2025 stats: 48 tackles, 5 INTs, 14 PBUs, 4.45 40-yard dash. Chiefs 2025 record: 12-5, AFC West winners. Draft position: Round 2, Pick 45 (overall 45). Super Bowl Chiefs now pre-draft).
