What happened: Evaluators are examining C.J. Stroud after Kurt Warner named him the weekend's top quarterback on October 20. Aditi Kinkhabwala also reported on October 14 that Stroud is playing the best football of his career.

Why it matters: Pete Prisco noted on October 20 that Stroud's recent command has driven up his contract price after extension negotiations went unresolved on September 2. An October 12 trade for 2027 second- and seventh-round picks also reunited Stroud with a former college receiving target.

What to watch: Stroud's pre-snap reads and pocket navigation carry added weight as the 2026 regular season progresses with his next contract still unsigned.
