College football game sets verified noise record at 130.3 decibels

Breaks previous Big Ten noise mark

Wire Report IntelligenceUpdated 4h1 min read

What happened: The 130.3-decibel reading was described as scientifically verified for cross-venue comparison. The development surfaced Oct. 21 during the 2026 regular season.

Why it matters: Verified noise marks give programs a comparable home-field benchmark beyond a single result. A conference benchmark falling resets the national target for other stadiums.

By the numbers: 130.3 decibels listed as verified college football high; prior standard was the Big Ten record.

What to watch: Measurement details and the next loud-venue game will show whether 130.3 stands.
