What happened: Colorado finalized its staff changes after the Rockies hired Andre Lipcius as video advance scout to assist the mound overhaul. The organizational pivot follows the departure of longtime manager Clint Hurdle after two decades with the franchise.

Why it matters: Advanced pitch tracking and video breakdown provide marginal gains, but they cannot compensate for a roster lacking high velocity strikeout arms at Coors Field. Until the front office invests in proven rotation talent rather than analytical infrastructure alone, Colorado will remain near the bottom in run prevention.
