What happened: The agreement was completed Thursday ahead of the 2026 regular season. Sanchez had been under contract through 2026.

Why it matters: Indianapolis avoids taking its punter position into next offseason. The Colts retain a specialist who appeared in all 17 games in 2025.

By the numbers: Sanchez averaged 48.8 yards gross and 44.7 net on 44 punts in 2025, placing 22 inside the 20.

What to watch: Sanchez now turns toward the Colts' final preseason preparations and the 2026 opener.
