What happened: Mike Garafolo said he spoke with two clubs that had asked Indianapolis about the player. The Colts view him as part of their plans beyond this season.

Why it matters: Indianapolis has traded two veterans this week, drawing interest in other players on its roster. Keeping this defender would set a limit on that sell-off.

What to watch: The trade deadline is Nov. 10. Garafolo expects Indianapolis to work toward an extension before the defensive tackle reaches free agency.
