What happened: Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Klayton Adams said new kickoff rules are producing new defensive tactics. He said the ball is moving freely between the 30-yard lines and kickers now have a shot at a field goal from the logo.

Why it matters: Expanded scoring range raises the cost of conceding midfield yards. Defenses must defend shorter fields with field-goal range starting much earlier.

What to watch: Watch whether Dallas alters its midfield play-calling and coverage to account for longer kick range.
