What happened: Cris Carter said on NFL Network that Kyler Murray will bring the Vikings offense something Minnesota hasn't had in years. The remark came without Carter specifying the exact trait, framed instead as a broad endorsement of Murray's fit.

Why it matters: The comment adds outside validation to the ongoing quarterback competition between Murray and J.J. McCarthy, now heading into training camp. Carter's read suggests Murray offers a stylistic contrast to McCarthy rather than a marginal upgrade.

What to watch: Watch how the Murray-McCarthy competition develops once Vikings training camp opens.
