What happened: Dame connected from beyond the arc down the stretch in Los Angeles to hand the Lakers their first defeat since their current run began. His perimeter shooting closed out the road contest after he cleared four three-pointers on the night.

Why it matters: The loss interrupts an opening-week surge for a Lakers squad that finalized its 15-man roster on Oct. 19 by waiving Dalton Knecht prior to the Oct. 21 opener against the Warriors. Dropping home dates early in the 2025-26 regular season tightens the margin for error in the Western Conference standings.

What to watch: Los Angeles looks to regroup in its next regular-season outing as the opening stretch of the schedule continues.
