What happened: Cormier attributed his post-fight cage mention of Yadong during an interview with O'Malley to instructions from the broadcast production truck in his earpiece. Sheehan rejected the excuse, arguing the commentator routinely tells audiences what they want to hear.

Why it matters: Broadcast messaging from Octagon interviews has drawn scrutiny this month across multiple UFC cards. On Oct. 14, Dana White denied Alex Pereira's claim that promotion officials directed Cormier to push a matchup between Ciryl Gane and Josh Hokit for UFC 334.

What to watch: Cormier remains on the UFC broadcast team heading into upcoming numbered events, including UFC 336 on Jan. 30.
