What happened: The New Jersey Devils travel to Las Vegas for a Friday road meeting with the Golden Knights. The cross-conference tilt features New Jersey looking to secure two points away from home ice.

Why it matters: Securing a victory on the road provides New Jersey an opportunity to strengthen its position in the standings. Early-season western road swings offer an early benchmark for team cohesion outside of home territory.

What to watch: The teams take the ice at 6:00 PM ET to open the interconference clash.
