What happened: White spent 2025-26 with the San Jose Barracuda, recording 21 goals and 27 assists in 46 AHL games. His last NHL action came in 2024-25, when he went scoreless in three games with the San Jose Sharks.

Why it matters: The two-way structure gives New Jersey a veteran depth option as White competes for an NHL roster spot. He has played 323 NHL games across nine seasons, totaling 113 points.

By the numbers: White averaged 1.04 points per game in the AHL last season. He has averaged 0.35 points per NHL game and recorded eight shots and 11 hits in 11 games with Pittsburgh in 2023-24.

What to watch: Training camp will determine whether White earns an NHL roster spot for the 2026-27 season.
