Devils sign former Canadiens forward Colin White to one-year deal

The two-way contract carries a $900,000 NHL cap hit

Wire Report IntelligenceUpdated Jul 301 min read

What happened: White produced 21 goals and 27 assists across 46 games with the San Jose Barracuda last season. He previously went scoreless in 17 games with Montreal and three appearances for San Jose.

Why it matters: The contract gives New Jersey another veteran option for training camp without guaranteeing an NHL roster spot. White could otherwise provide experienced depth for the Utica Comets.

By the numbers: White averaged 1.04 points per game in the AHL last season, totaling 48 points in 46 appearances. He has no points across his past 20 NHL games.

What to watch: White will compete for a Devils roster spot during training camp ahead of the 2026-27 season.
