No WR has gotten more yardage this season off man coverage than DK Metcalf Man Zone Report 🔽 https://t.co/csw1YQWMdg h Via @PFF on X

What happened: No NFL wide receiver has compiled more receiving yardage against man coverage during the 2026 regular season than DK Metcalf, who held a league-best 164 yards against single coverage as of Oct. 20, per PFF. The wideout stayed in the lineup on Oct. 18 after clearing a Friday illness.

Why it matters: Winning isolated one-on-one matchups forces opposing defenses to roll safety help over the top or shift into zone shells on passing downs. Drafted 64th overall in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft (as of Sept. 29, 2026), Metcalf continues to dictate defensive coverage allocations in the 2026 regular season.

By the numbers: Metcalf recorded 10 receptions for 88 yards on 14 targets on Oct. 18, including a third-down conversion.

What to watch: Upcoming regular-season opponents must weigh whether to bracket Metcalf with two-high safety looks or continue testing him in man coverage.
