What happened: Emma Rodriguez and her platoon marked the start of camp in support of her husband, inside linebacker Jacob Rodriguez. Miami thanked them and other service members.

Why it matters: The gesture adds a military-family connection to Rodriguez's first Dolphins camp. He joins Miami as a second-round draft pick.

What to watch: Miami's first training-camp practice open to the public is scheduled for Aug. 2.
