RT @MikeGarafolo: From @gmfb on the Jalen Hurts blood clot, trying to fill in some gaps and why we still have questions Via @gmfb on X

What happened: Philadelphia ruled Hurts out for Week 6 on Friday before placing him on injured reserve Oct. 17. The team identified the issue as a leg blood clot requiring a minimum four-week absence.

Why it matters: Philadelphia's offense was retooled around Hurts after his second-round arrival out of Oklahoma in 2020. A multi-week absence at quarterback forces a new starter into a regular-season race with no recent data on replacements.

By the numbers: In 2025 with Philadelphia over 16 games: 294 of 454 for 3,224 yards with 25 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Drafted 53rd overall in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma.

What to watch: Philadelphia's next game-day inactive list and practice participation will clarify the starting quarterback and return path.
