Bolsters WR corps ahead of AJ Brown trade to Pats. Video

What happened: Philadelphia Eagles traded up in the 2026 NFL Draft to select USC wide receiver Makai Lemon. The move provides depth at receiver amid reports of an impending AJ Brown trade to New England in June. Schefter reports the Eagles view Lemon as key insurance.

Why it matters: Brown's departure would leave a massive hole in Philly's passing game after his 1,400-yard season. Lemon's college production (85 catches, 1,250 yards in 2025) fits their scheme. Trade rumors shift, with Pats now favorites to land Brown.

By the numbers: Draft trade: Eagles send No. 22, No. 58, 2027 3rd to Bears for No. 18. Eagles cap space: $28M; Pats: $42M. No injury concerns for Brown.

What to watch: Monitor June trade deadline for Brown's official move. Watch Lemon's OTAs for early integration.
