What happened: Simon Edvinsson met face to face with general manager Shawn Horcoff and agent J.P. Barry 3-4 days ago. The session addressed his status with Detroit amid an active trade request.

Why it matters: Detroit must set its defensive pairings without clarity on Edvinsson's availability. A resolution determines whether the club retains a young blueliner or moves toward a roster change.

What to watch: Further updates from the club will show whether talks progress toward a return or a move.
