What happened: Formula 1 confirmed a Rwanda Grand Prix for the early 2030s, restoring Africa to the calendar. The agreement adds an African Grand Prix on a 10-year term. It ends a 33-year gap without a championship race in Africa.

Why it matters: The move returns the championship to a fourth continent and opens a new market for teams, sponsors and broadcast windows. Rwanda takes the slot after years of talks about an African return. The long term locks in planning for teams on travel, logistics and future calendar rotation.

What to watch: Watch for the debut season, circuit location and construction timeline, plus where Rwanda fits in the calendar rotation.
