A possible trade candidate for practically all offseason, Dexter is finally headed elsewhere. Via @MikeGarafolo on X

What happened: Dexter had been a trade candidate throughout the offseason. The deal resolves his status as both clubs complete their 53-man rosters.

Why it matters: Atlanta adds a defensive tackle who started every game last season. Chicago turns a player entering his contract year into secondary depth and draft capital.

By the numbers: Dexter started 17 games last season. Phillips has made 28 career appearances with seven starts.

What to watch: Watch where Dexter fits in Atlanta's interior rotation and whether Phillips earns a role in Chicago's secondary.
