Falcons leave Week 2 QB call open despite Rush press slot

QB Cooper Rush is scheduled for the #Falcons QB weekly press conference slot currently. However, I'm told that it is not Via @marcraimondi on X

What happened: Cooper Rush is currently scheduled for the Falcons' weekly quarterback press conference. That assignment can change if Atlanta names another quarterback as its Week 2 starter.

Why it matters: The setup leaves Atlanta's quarterback plan unsettled just days after the Falcons named Cooper Rush their Week 1 starter. Any switch this early in the season would be a notable change at the league's most scrutinized position.

By the numbers: Atlanta listed Rush as a backup on Sept. 10, named him the Week 1 starter on Sept. 11 and still had Week 2 uncertainty on Sept. 15.

What to watch: Watch for Atlanta's Week 2 starter announcement and whether Rush keeps the weekly quarterback media slot. Practice participation and the next media schedule should offer the clearest clue.
