Saints DC Staley pushed back on call

Wire Report IntelligenceUpdated 56m1 min read

What happened: Aikman Staley said he had no idea what Aikman was talking about, while fan posts sided with Aikman and told Deion Sanders to take notes.

Why it matters: Daniels entered the league as the second overall pick in 2024 out of LSU and carries starter-level scrutiny. The split decides whether the mistake sits on the quarterback alone or on protection, scheme and coaching around him.

By the numbers: Daniels completed 114 of 188 passes for 1,262 yards with 8 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in 7 games in 2025 (as of 2026-09-29). He was drafted 2nd overall in the 2024 NFL Draft out of LSU.

What to watch: Daniels gets his next start as the reset point after the blunder and the broadcast debate.
