What happened: Trade interest in Flames center Morgan Frost and defenseman Zach Whitecloud continues to grow, according to David Pagnotta, but GM Craig Conroy is under no pressure to move either. Calgary already reshaped its roster this offseason, trading Rasmus Andersson to the Vegas Golden Knights, Mackenzie Weegar to the Utah Mammoth and Nazem Kadri to the Colorado Avalanche.

Why it matters: Frost enters the final year of his contract off a Whitecloud, acquired in the Andersson deal, is signed through 2027-28 at a $2.75 million cap hit and has drawn interest from the Anaheim Ducks, who lost John Carlson, Jacob Trouba and Radko Gudas off their blue line this offseason.

By the numbers: Frost arrived from the Philadelphia Flyers alongside Joel Farabee during the 2024-25 season. Whitecloud won a Stanley Cup with Vegas in 2023.

What to watch: Watch for the pace of talks to pick up as the free-agent market dries up and rival clubs turn to trades to address remaining roster needs.
