What happened: The Calgary Flames assigned goaltender Arsenii Sergeev to the AHL's Calgary Wranglers on Thursday. Sergeev returns to the minors after being recalled to the NHL roster on Oct. 30.

Why it matters: The reassignment trims Calgary's active roster and returns Sergeev to regular game action in the AHL. It signals that the Flames' NHL goaltending tandem is healthy and set for upcoming regular-season play.

What to watch: Sergeev will rejoin the Wranglers for their upcoming AHL slate, while Calgary continues its regular-season schedule.
