What happened: Fabrizio Romano reports Hansi Flick and Barcelona have agreed on a new contract, with all terms approved following a verbal agreement reached weeks ago. The deal runs through June 2028 with an option to extend until 2029, negotiated with agent Pini Zahavi in Barcelona. Signatures are expected to follow shortly.

Why it matters: The extension cements Flick's project at Camp Nou after a title-winning campaign and removes uncertainty around the dugout heading into the summer window. It also confirms the trajectory reported earlier this month when Zahavi arrived in Barcelona to finalize the deal, giving the sporting department a stable platform to plan recruitment and renewals.

What to watch: Watch for the official Barcelona announcement and signing photos in the coming days. Attention then shifts to summer transfer priorities and any knock-on staff renewals tied to Flick's extended tenure.
