Liverpool rebuffed Bayern's summer pursuit of teenage winger

Chelsea holds 20% of any future sale profit.

What happened: Bayern Munich was prepared to offer about £60m, according to The Telegraph. Liverpool made clear it would not negotiate, and Bayern backed away.

Why it matters: Chelsea's clause would reduce Liverpool's proceeds if the winger is sold. His contract runs through 2028, making a renewal the next significant decision.

By the numbers: Twenty percent of a £60m fee is £12m, but Chelsea's clause applies to profit rather than the full fee. Its payout at that sale price would therefore be lower.

What to watch: Liverpool's contract talks and any renewed transfer interest will determine whether the clause comes into play.
