What happened: Marco Scutaro celebrated his 51st birthday on Friday. Acquired by Toronto in November 2007, the veteran infielder spent two seasons with the Blue Jays as an everyday contributor.

Why it matters: Scutaro posted the strongest stretch of his career in Toronto, totaling 10.0 bWAR across the 2008 and 2009 seasons while batting .282 in his final campaign with the club. His reliable play solidified the infield during a transitional period for the franchise.

What to watch: Major League Baseball shifts toward the 2026-27 offseason following the Milwaukee Brewers' World Series title, with winter roster planning underway.
