What happened: Alpine driver Franco Colapinto publicly asked his supporters to stop directing online abuse at fellow Formula 1 drivers and sport figures. Speaking ahead of the United States Grand Prix, Colapinto stated that the hostility is neither helping him nor benefiting his future in the series.

Why it matters: The appeal follows a high-scrutiny stretch for the Alpine driver who retained team backing after a Baku clash with Pierre Gasly and Lando Norris. Managing fan conduct has become an increasing priority for teams and drivers as Colapinto works to solidify his long-term standing on the grid.

What to watch: Colapinto returns to the cockpit as the Formula 1 season continues at the United States Grand Prix in Texas.
