What happened: The 27-year-old worked out for New York earlier this week before the agreement. John Michael Schmitz is likely headed to concussion protocol, while Lucas Patrick hobbled during Friday’s practice.

Why it matters: The addition gives New York another option at a position thinned by injuries. Jaimes spent most of five seasons with Los Angeles and was with New England last season.

By the numbers: Jaimes has appeared in 50 NFL games over five seasons. He played four games last season, logging 22 offensive snaps and 28 special-teams snaps.

What to watch: Watch for Jaimes’ first practice reps and how New York divides its center snaps while Schmitz and Patrick are limited.
