Versatile pass-rusher falls to New York. Video

What happened: The New York Giants picked Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese fifth overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. The versatile defender, projected as a top pass-rusher, slid unexpectedly into their lap. Giants plan to deploy him at inside linebacker.

Why it matters: Giants address dire pass-rush need after 2025's league-worst 22 sacks and 4-13 finish. Reese's skills boost rebuild, potentially accelerating defense. Draft props settle;

By the numbers: Giants 2025 record: 4-13 (31st in sacks). Reese OSU stats (2024-25): 18 sacks, 25 TFL. Pre-draft Reese draft pos .5 (hit under); Giants top-5 pass-rusher (hits).

What to watch: Monitor Giants' Rounds 2-3 for OL; Reese OTA debut.
