What happened: After being selected 42nd overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, Ja'Kobi Gillespie is making a strong impression for the San Antonio Spurs during offseason competition. He recently secured a two-way contract with the organization.

Why it matters: Strong performances in July are critical for two-way players looking to earn rotational minutes for the upcoming 2026-27 season. Proving he can effectively run an offense and hit from the perimeter bolsters his case to spend more time with the main roster.

What to watch: The squad will travel to Las Vegas to conclude the remainder of the summer schedule.
